Publication Schedule
All submissions must be in a format that expedites “copy” and “paste as text”.
- Suggested options include:
- copying directly into email
- sending an attachment as a “.txt” file
- Microsoft Word or a compatible word processing program
- Graphics, to include tables, should be provided as “.jpg” or “.tif/f”
- We will provide guidance for doing this if necessary.
There are no constraints on minimum, maximum or length. This is one of the advantages of online publication. However, keep in mind the propensity for readers to find it difficult to include very long publications in their busy lives.
Content should contribute to the mission and vision of the Integral Leadership Review, be concerned with one or more issues of leadership and leading and engage this topic through an integral, developmental and/or transdisciplinary* lens. It is the responsibility of the editor (s) to determine how well the submission meets these criteria.
* Note: We distinguish between interdisciplinary - a mechanical combining of disciplines - from transdisciplinary - the inclusion of two or more disciplines in perspective that transcends both.
Style requirements:
- Do not use footnotes.
- Single space following periods, semicolons and colons.
- Use HBR guidelines for all in-text citations of others' work and in listing them at the end of the article. For example:
- Within the text, indicate the author(s) and year of publication: (Brown, 2006; Crow, 2004).
- For each in-text citation such as the example above, there is a corresponding reference included in an alphabetized reference list at the end of the article. References to (1) a book, (2) a journal article, and (3) a chapter in an edited book should look as follows:
- a reference to a book: Brown, D. (2006). Leader and leadership: Integral paths. San Francisco: Best Press.
- a reference to a journal article. Brown, D. (2006). Leader and leadership: Integral paths. International Journal of Leadership, 10(4), 189-210.
- a reference to a chapter in an edited book. Brown, D. (2006). Leader and leadership: Integral paths. In A. Deer & B. Doe (Eds.), Bringing leading and following down to earth (pp. 230-250). Lisbon: Gibralter Press.
Peer review has not been an option for Integral Leadership Review publication. If there is a request for peer review of an individual article, we will consider the possibility for double-blind reviews.
Language is optional. As a publication with subscribers in more than sixty countries, we believe we have a responsibility for providing materials in other languages and will seek an editor with that language capability. Any articles that are not published in English will, however, include an English summary. NOTE: We are not currently publishing articles in languages other than English. We hope to do so in the future.
Authors are required to submit short, one-paragraph biographies, an email address and such other contact information they will to publish, and a jpg or tif photo for inclusion with the article.
